Pay Per Click Internet Advertising
Do you want to learn more about pay per click Internet advertising? Then you’ve come to the right place. You are about to discover what exactly pay per click Internet advertising is, what it is not, for whom pay per click Internet advertising is a good choice, and some of the most common mistakes that people make when they get started doing PPC ads. PPC stands for pay per click, and it’s quite a common jargon word, so it is something you should know right from the start.
The great thing about pay per click advertising is that it allows you to measure your return on investment very precisely. Because you can see exactly how many people reacted to your ad, and from the people who react to your ad, you can see how many people actually make a buying decision or give you their contact data, or what ever the action is, that you want them to take.
This is very different from general image advertising, where you spent a lot of money to get your company name, or your slogan, or some kind of offer out in front of a lot of people, and hope that it will pay off.
You see, with pay per click advertising you only pay when somebody clicks on your ad. And the probably biggest benefit about pay per click advertising is that it allows you to target very specifically people who have already demonstrated an interest in what it is that you have to sell.
For example, you can tell Google that you want your ads to be displayed every time somebody types in “wedding planner Boston”. If you are wedding planner in Boston, then it is very hard to find a more targeted prospect than that. In your ad you should display why you are the right wedding planner for the people looking for one, and you do that by delivering benefits. I talk more about ad writing in my PPC secrets minicourse, but in the search network it’s really not that difficult. In fact, if you have the right ad writing formulas it’s really easy.
Banner advertising can also be a form of pay per click advertising. But it depends on the way it is set up. Some banner ads are charged for based on impressions, not on clicks. So if you run an impression-based advertising campaigns, then you’d pay for every time your banner gets displayed on a website. It doesn’t matter if the searcher clicks on your banner ad or not. Again, be aware that this is not pay per click advertising. But if you have it set up so that you only pay when someone clicks on your banner, no matter how often your banner ad gets displayed, then that is pay per click advertising.
Pay per click advertising is quite a complicated thing. It used to be really easy five years ago, but now it’s slowly evolving into the ranks of becoming an engineer or rocket scientist.
